Cynthia Nge
Cynthia Nge is a contemporary jeweller behind a brand which she created in Paris in 2009 after closing the chapter to her full-time profession as a Graphic Designer & Art director in the Antipodean for 15 years.
Both her diploma in Graphic Design and Applied Arts were completed back in the ‘90s in Auckland, New Zealand. Four years ago she decided to extend her tight physical and visual restrictions from working on a bench every day by taking up ceramics as a side hobby.
Intrigued & amazed by this malleable organic material with such ancient connection & depth in its endless methods from all sides of the world; led her eventually to the discovery of make-believe with clay that with a certain chemistry & treatment the end result can resemble an Agate gemstone, a pebble, a rusty metal bolt even. A medium she finds fit to transform the idea of both dynamism & illusion of objects and time.
